DUKASI is a made-up word, whose single letters illustrate the initial letters of "decoration and art from a Sondershausen community of interest".
With 19,000 residents Sondershausen is the district capital of the Kyffhäuser district in the north of Thuringia. Landmark of this region is the monument in the Kyffhäuser mountain, which has been an attraction for visitors from all over Germany for decades.
Background of the community of interest is the civil law association (GbR) established by Marco Siegmann and Bernhard Heß on September 19, 2005. By the pooling of different artists and craftsmen from the North Thuringia region on this basis a special and unique online shop has developed, that makes it also possible for smaller providers and avoncational self-employed artists to present their works to a larger clientele and merket them in a contemporary medium.
